The Ocean Sands Hotel is a 3.5 star hotel, and not the 4 star hotels that I'm used to with my Club Wyndham points. The staff was mostly friendly and the room and hallway were mostly clean. The rooms were much smaller than I expected, I had to bring the kitchen chairs into the room to open the sofa bed. The bathroom whirlpool tub was old and didn't seem to work. I truly loved that rooms had a balcony with a view of the ocean and the fact that I was on the 12th floor made for an inspirational place to have my morning coffee, also I saw a pod of dolphins at about 6 to 10 am. The hallways needed to be vacuumed or the carpet could be updated. The pool was nice, because it was not as busy as I expected, the 4.5 foot deep pool was great for my baby, she really enjoyed it and I felt safe. The lobby level has a bar, Johnny Mañana, it was fun and had live music on the weekend. A really nice feature of the hotel was that it was few steps from the Virginia Beach board walk, with access to the beach and lots of nice restaurants. I feel that a would visit again now that I know what I'm getting into, I had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Almost forgot, the Navy has a base near by, so expect to hear some awesome jets flying overhead.

Ocean Sand Resort – A great value and fantastic stay in Virginia Beach Prime Location** Perfectly situated between 22nd and 23rd Streets—right where the action is! Just steps away from beach concerts, restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. **Stunning Views** Wake up to breathtaking sunrises and enjoy panoramic views of the beach and boardwalk from your private balcony. **Comfortable & Well-Equipped Property** The resort offers spacious rooms with full kitchens (including utensils, cookware, and appliances), a cozy living/dining area where a sofa bed, dining table and chairs are provided. Great amenities like a rooftop pool, sauna, and sun deck. Additional perks include free parking, a safety box, on-site gym, restaurant, laundry facilities, and complimentary morning coffee in the lobby. While the decor is slightly dated, the convenience and comfort more than make up for it. **Exceptional Service** The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help—making our stay even more enjoyable. This is a timeshare property, so we did receive a few promotional sales pitches during our stay. While that was a minor annoyance, it didn’t overshadow the great value and overall experience. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily return on our next visit to Virginia Beach!

Ocean Sands Resort was a wonderful place to stay. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. With a beautiful view from the balcony, you can see the dolphins swim in the am. We loved that there was a door to separate the bedroom and kitchenette. We had a minor issue we addressed after our stay. The manager was very kind and helpful. We look forward to staying here again.

As other reviews have indicated, this resort is a little dated. HOWEVER, the hospitality and friendliness of the staff and just their overall willingness to accommodate your request more than make up for it My wife and I were on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and had pretty much everything you would expect in order to prepare and store meals. The Atlantic beach view of sunrises and moon lit nights over the water were spectacular The bed felt like it needed a padded mattress cover but wasn't terrible without it. The room was clean and neat and did not have a scent. Parking was more than adequate with plenty of eateries within quick walking distance. I would stay here again Suggestions for the balcony 1. Consider adding a screened balcony door. This will allow guests the option of hearing the ocean while keeping out insects. 2. Adding a small round or square table in between the two balcony chairs. This would increase the overall functionality of the space and encourage guests to sit while on the balcony and take it all in. Just a thought

Room was great, could see from our balcony. Bathtub was gross, mold/mildew on all the jets. Only 1 elevator goes all the way up. Other then that, our stay was great. Do not recommend the bar/restaurant.

It was an okay resort. Upon arrival, the front desk staff, especially Nate, was friendly and welcoming. The resort felt safe and is located right on the ocean, which was a big plus. However, there were a few things I didn’t like. We saw a cockroach on the highway multiple times, which was concerning. Also, while I understand this is a resort, they do charge a cleaning fee—and for families staying more than 3–4 days, I believe cleaning should be available upon request. Unfortunately, no one came to clean during our stay, even when we asked. There was also no designated place to drop off trash, and no staff available to collect it. Another issue was with the towel exchange—one of the staff members responsible for towels gave us a hard time when we asked for clean ones, which made the experience less pleasant. Other than that, it was okay overall

Recently stayed here and, here are my thoughts. Pros: the balcony and view of the ocean was the highlight of the place. Right on the beach and super easy access. Location of the resort is right on Atlantic blvd, a lot of fun stuff to do, places to shop and food is a very short drive or walk away. The kitchen was stocked with kitchen utensils and supplies to be able to cook almost anything you want. Self service laundry is FREE so long as you bring your own soap and dryer sheets. Parking was great. We also never heard our neighbors. Not in the rooms or the balcony. Cons: the entire building is very dated. Reception, hallways and rooms. A face lift would do wonders here. The worst part of everything was the bed. I’m not a difficult sleeper, I don’t need a big nice bed but that bed was the worst I’ve ever slept on. BRING A MATTRESS COVER. The room had a broom but no dust pan. It’s also a TimeShare so there is no maid service or laundry, though you can still exchange dirty linens for clean ones on your own. With it being a time share someone did call in hopes I would go to an open house meeting for a $100 visa gift card which I did not. We also had employees come to our room twice and repeatedly knock on our door until we answered bringing supplies that I did not order. That could have been an honest mistake of someone not knowing what room number they were but it was odd and I feel worth mentioning. Overall for the price I would recommend a stay here. I would just bring a stiffer mop and a mattress cover !

We stayed from July 31-Aug 3. Had a 4th floor room with a perfect view of the ocean. We didn't have issues with boardwalk noise (the glass was pretty sound proof when balcony door is kept shut). We had the door propped open almost the entire time to sleep with the ocean sounds. That was so nice. Enjoyed some storm watching on the balcony late Thursday night. Unlike other reviews that stated their rooms were dirty, ours was just fine. No stains, no bugs. Everything worked. Clean linens, comfy bed. It's a beach hotel...nothing will ever be 100% pristine when you deal with sand! Staff was incredibly nice. The location was perfect as it's pretty centralized to great restaurants. We did not have issues with parking, in fact we were able to park on the 4th level which is where our room was! The only complaint - I think there was renovations going on directly above us (we were in 412)? We were woken up pretty early in the morning by a ton of banging upstairs....at one time I was sitting on the balcony and it sounded like 4 people were about to crash through the balcony roof, scared the crap out of me. I attached some pictures of our view and the sunrises! To wake up and see the ocean immediately from our bed was wonderful. Thanks for a great experience!
